Whitworth Cafe Reopening – Results of Survey

Thank-you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey about how we reopen the Whitworth. The survey is enclosed below.

It tells us that 52% are "very likely" to return to using the café. 90% are more likely than not to return to using the café. This gives us great confidence in reopening this weekend.

52% of those questioned would use tables inside the building as well as those outside. In view of this feedback, we will open with outside tables from Saturday but will work to include inside tables once we see how the outside tables arrangements work.

63% would be happy with a minimum spend limit. After some careful thinking, we have decided not to implement a minimum order amount when we open on Saturday, but we may introduce a £5 minimum order amount if people block tables unfairly. This is to ensure that we can seat as many people as fairly as possible.

90% would not mind a limited menu, and we have decided to offer a limited menu initially and then to grow this menu as demand dictates.

91% would be willing to pay by contactless. We have decided not to limit to contactless only, but we request that contactless is used as a first priority, followed by chip & pin cards with cash as a last resort.

88% of you would be prepared to give your contact details in case of future Track and Trace requirements. We won’t mandate this but we would hope that everyone would be community spirited and do this.

We will share a menu soon. In the meantime, thank-you again for your survey response and we hope to see you at the café in the days and weeks to come.
