Join the Chatsworth Players in Whitworth Park for an open-air theatre production of the delightful "Heroes". Written by Gerald Sibleyras and translated into English by Tom Stoppard, this award-winning comedy (Olivier Award, 2006) is the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
Meet Henri, Gustave, and Phillippe, three veterans of the Great War, living in retirement at a home for soldiers. When not admiring the local ladies or undermining the nuns who run the home, they can be found on their favourite terrace plotting adventure and escape. These three unlikely companions help each other face that great leveller, age, with grace and good humour........... and an occasional spat between cantankerous old codgers.
Bring your own seating - low backed chairs and rugs. We will go ahead in the event of rain, so make sure you dress appropriately. Please don't bring umbrellas as they block other’s view — we recommend you bring macs or cagoules.
The fourth piece of Open Air Theatre on this Summer, in a covid secure environment.
The play is on the 30th and 31st July 2021 and shouldn't be missed!
Tickets are £12.00 (plus a £1.50 booking fee) and are available here: Whitworth Shop
