The Whitworth park is over 10 acres of mature parkland with over 470 trees with protection orders, ponds and ornamental lakes, threaded by wide paved paths that make it accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs. Home to numerous indigenous and migrating wildlife, a beautiful tranquil serene landscape to walk, run, picnic, read, play, meet and interact with other members of the community or visitors to the peaks, all are welcome, open and free all year round.

The park also features a croquet club, Crown green bowling green, two football fields, a skate bowl, adventure playground a toddler and young children playground. Numerous planted flower beds, picnic benches and park benches. The park also hosts regular events throughout the year from local keep fit groups, a monthly 5k running club, cycling proficiency courses for children, Dog walking and obedience courses, walking groups, community activities, horse drawn carriage rides, kite flying and large scale events from charity music festivals, circuses, fair grounds, sports festivals, food & drink festivals, bonfire night celebrations and outside cinema. Promoters, event organisers and charities are always welcome to pitch ideas and events with our management team.
